Privacy Policy
This is the privacy policy for rankedtiers.club and the RankedTiers Minecraft server. We keep it simple and honest — no legal walls of text.
Who's responsible?
RankedTiers is a personal hobby project. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at info@rankedtiers.club.
What data do we collect?
When you join the Minecraft server, we store:
- Your Minecraft username, UUID, and skin texture URL
- Your gameplay stats: Elo rating, wins, losses, streaks, kits played
- Social data: clan membership, friends list, party membership
- Timestamps: first join, last join, online time, fight time
- Settings and preferences you configure in-game
This data is stored in a database on our server in Europe. Your player profile (name, stats, tier, skin) is displayed publicly on the website.
When you visit the website, we use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) for basic traffic analytics. This collects standard data like your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and sets cookies on your device. No other tracking is used.
When you use Discord, Discord's own privacy policy applies. We don't collect additional data from Discord.
Why do we collect this data?
- Player data: To run the game — matchmaking, leaderboards, rankings, profiles, and social features. You can't have a ranked PvP server without tracking stats.
- Analytics: To understand how the website is used and improve it.
Legal basis (GDPR)
- Player data: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — you voluntarily join a competitive game server and reasonably expect your stats to be tracked and displayed.
- Analytics cookies: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Who gets your data?
- Google (Analytics) — for website traffic stats. Google may transfer data to the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Mojang / Microsoft — we fetch your skin texture from Mojang's API, but they already have your data since it's your Minecraft account.
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with anyone else. We have no ads.
How long do we keep your data?
Player data is kept as long as the server runs. If you want your data removed, just ask (see Contact below) and we'll delete your records.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your data — your profile page already shows most of it
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to processing
- Export your data
To exercise any of these, email info@rankedtiers.club. We'll handle it within 30 days.
Cookies
On your first visit you'll see a banner at the bottom of the page asking whether you want to accept analytics cookies. Until you click Accept, no Google Analytics cookies are set at all — the tracking script doesn't even load. Click Reject and we remember that choice; the banner won't bug you again.
You can change your mind any time by clicking Manage Cookies at the bottom of any page. Additional opt-out paths:
- Using a browser extension like Google Analytics Opt-out
- Blocking cookies in your browser settings
No other cookies are used. The one technical cookie we set is your theme preference (light / dark mode), which lives in your own browser's localStorage and never leaves your device.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page. Nothing sneaky.
